Fr. Prof. Antoni Dębiński, rector of the Catholic University of Lublin:

HIS LECTURES ARE A TESTIMONY OF DEEP ENGAGEMENT IN THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH

The Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, reminiscing the deceased cardinal Stanisław Nagy explains that his connection with this university dates back to the year 1950 – first as a student, later as an academic employee at the Department of Theology of the Catholic University of Lublin. He was always deeply connected and engaged with the life of the Catholic University of Lublin, identified himself with the idea of the catholic university and was a promoter of the university abroad.

– Thanks to the academic prestige, he made many contacts with various academic centres, mainly in Italy, France and Belgium, strengthening the position of our university in foreign groups of the Catholic thoughts – said Fr. Prof. Dębiński.

He noted that cardinal Nagy ‘had defended rights of the Church to freedom of action and human rights of a believer to the freedom of speech, conscience and public faith confession.
