THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF BLESSED PRIEST JERZY POPIEŁUSZKO?

In a diocese near Paris a miracle through the intercession of the Polish martyr blessed priest Jerzy Popiełuszko (1947-84) is being investigated. It was made public by the French Catholic journal ‘La Croix’, noting that if the miracle is acknowledged as scientifically inexplicable and with the permanent healing character, the road to canonization of Fr. Jerzy will be opened. A special commission for investigating the authenticity of the miracle was set up by bishop of Creteil, Michel Santier. According to the journal, in September 2012, a priest was asked to come to the hospital in Creteil, in order to give the sacrament of the sick to a 56-year-old man. He was suffering from a rare kind of blood cancer; it was the last stadium of his illness, the man was losing consciousness.

The priest entrusted the ill man to the care of blessed priest Popiełuszko, whose birthday was on 14 September. Soon, after that, the man woke up from coma and asked what was happening with him. A few days later doctors stated complete recovery of the patient.
