THESE ARE ALREADY MILLIONS

ANTONI SZYMANSKI

A big part of political elites of Western Europe, especially the German ones, is still unable to understand the current problem of migration

It is proved by decisions of the European Parliament and other bodies concentrated on dealing with the current and unexpectedly big wave of the so-called refugees. They do not see the fact that accepting a few hundred thousand emigrants is an encouragement for inhabitants of poor regions of Africa and Asia full of conflicts, in order to emigrate to Europe in search of a better life. There are millions of these people! They strengthened the situation by their getting rid of the property of their whole family and a journey for Europe, for which many of them are going to pay with their health and life.

Authority of the stronger ones over the weaker ones

The previous discussions did not consider the fact that the current emigration is not only a forpost of migration which will happen soon. So, strategic decisions are necessary. Europe must decide how to behave towards hopes of millions of poor immigrants waiting for benefits, free flats, work and all civilian rights. It is also necessary to realize the fact that these are people of completely different culture and identity than ours, those who are not going to integrate with the society of our country in which they arrived, to most extent. Not only is cultural aspect omitted, but also the extremely important religious and demographic dimension. The Muslims have a lot of children, and most of the societies of particular countries of Europe do not have a simple reproduction.

This situation and inability of the EU authorities to make reasonable decisions, but also to elaborate long-time strategies, must lead to a catastrophe. The situation shows passivity and inability of the EU to defend its borders and its citizens. The Schengen sphere is endangered. Basic agreements of the unison treaty are breached. Forcing the weak EU countries to accept imposed amounts of immigrants is a very dangerous turning point in the EU policy. It is not only a breach of sovereignty of countries, but also imposing authority on weaker countries by the stronger ones. Fundamental thesis about subsidies and solidarity of countries getting lost somewhere, as well as actions for the common welfare. Germany is changes from a leader into hegemony and are ruthlessly realizing its purposes at the cost of weaker countries.

New Europe?

Problems are very serious. Conscious behavior of Hungary, Czech and Slovakia help old Europe understand a full dimension of the problem. Poland also belongs to the Visegrad Group, but the attitude of our government is not stable and clearly shows succumbing attitude to German demands, against the will of the most of the society.

If we agree to the breach of our sovereignty in the issues of migration policy, we will not make it easier for elites of Germany, Austria or France to understand what mistake they made by inviting immigrants.

Europe should remain in solidarity with people who are poor or suffering because of the war. However, it chooses the most expensive and the least effective form of support. It is necessary and possible to help where these problems appear. It is necessary to devote extra means, for example, those which the EU spends on ideological ideas of a fight with carbon dioxide or supporting abortion in poor countries. The asylum right should comprise only those whose life is endangered.

Today hospitals in refugees camps are being closed down, because there is no money to keep them. There is no help for the poorest ones and who are suffering the most: children, the ill, the elderly who are not able to emigrate to Europe. Whereas, in the very centre of the EU, enormous sums of money are spent in order to keep and save thousands of young, healthy men.

Isn't the former president of Czech, Vaclav Klaus right saying in 'Die Velt' that 'the purpose of the 'greeting' and 'open arms' policy is destroying nations of Europe. And for ever. On its rubbles politicians want to build 'new Europe' without us, that is, those who want to maintain European community in the current shape'.
