Polonia Catholic Meeting
What should be done so that the Church is not an impersonal mass of believers, this was the topic of the discussion at the annual Catholic meeting in Coventry, organized by the Polish Institute of Catholic Action in Great Britain. The theme referred to the message of Benedict XVI, which he directed to the Polish bishops during their ad limina Apostolorum visit to Rome in November and December 2005. About 150 delegates, representing Polish parish centres, located especially in southeastern England, arrived at St Stanislaw Kostka's parish in Coventry. The main group represented the patriotic trend of the Polish immigration. The main speaker was Archbishop Szczepan Wesoly. The discussion focused on the reality of the community of the faithful, which is a challenge to the Polish Church in Great Britain. The local parishes notice a sharp increase in believers, caused by immigration for economic reasons to the British Aisles.
