Team on the moratorium on abortions

The parliamentary club of Law and Justice party (PiS) has created a team that is to discuss the issue of moratorium on abortions. The initiative of the Italian journalist Giuliano Ferrara concerning moratorium was taken by the weekly ‘Niedziela’ that published an interview in which Ferrara presented his activities. Following that in February 2008 the editor-in-chief of ‘Niedziela’ proposed all Polish MPs to join the project of moratorium on abortions. The parliamentary team on the moratorium on abortions consists of Anna Sobecka, Artur Gorski and Nelli Rokita. The first meeting of the team is to be in May. The official name of the team, according to the statement of the head of the parliamentary club of Law and Justice Przemyslaw Gosiewski, is ‘the team of the Parliamentary Club of Law and Justice on the moratorium on abortions.’ Additionally, the team wants to monitor the works of the government concerning this issue and analyse similar initiatives of other MPs in Europe, collaborating with their representatives.
