EVERYTHING IS CORRECT

MARIAN FLOREK

Not earlier than after many years he placed his personal life and music in their proper places, so that they would be correct. He does not conceal that Jesus Christ is very important to him and whose presence he felt in a very palpable way

It was last year , soon after the visit of the top music band in Poland which gave a big concert on the stadium in Chorzów. I met Janusz in a supermarket. Asked if he had liked the concert, he said briefly: - Everything was correct! Quite detailed review but somehow reflecting the character of the popular musician. In his life and career, everything had to be correct. However, as he mentioned in one of interviews, not always it was so. Only after many years he placed his personal life and music in their proper places, so that they would ‘go together’. With what or maybe with whom? He does not conceal that Jesus Christ is very important to him and whose presence he felt in a very palpable way.

His music achievements

I remember a meeting with Janusz at a charity concert in the year of releasing his first solo record entitled ‘An inner portrait’ including a hit ‘The great divide’ which got onto the top in 1994 in the August Music TV Programme One. Everything had been correct then. And the idea of the concert and the message of the song and the very person of the composer, the author of the text and the performer. Janusz ‘Yanina’ Iwański is slowly becoming a legend of the Polish entertainment and jazz music. In his music life, let’s remind only his activity with the group ‘Tie Wreak’, cooperation with Stanisław Soyka and Maanam. After all, we can mention really a lot of music projects of great significance for the Polish music culture like the one with the band The Goodboys realized in Częstochowa in 2007, with songs about love or a big packet of music composed for the need of the theatre and film.

The recent achievement of Janusz Iwański is the hit album ‘Going on’ , recorded with the band Yanina&4Gramy. The record involves reminiscent sound of British rock music, beginning from The Beatles and finishing with Oasis. Production is promoted by a music video made by Piotr Dłubak with the help of the TV studio of ‘Niedziela’. On 19 November this year in ‘Konduktorownia’ in Częstochowa there was the first public show of the music clip to the song ‘Heavenly groves’.

Music gifts

When one is following artistic paths of ‘Yanina’ in details (https://pl. wikipedia.org/wiki/the_Goodboys), one will not find any time-off, breaks for rest-time. Year after year it is marked next actions of the hardworking and inventive composer. We must also mention a music hit list conducted from the year 2001 by a journalist Dariusz Ciszewski ‘Music gifts’, realized on the Radio Jasna Góra, present in many radio stations. Its initiators say about it: ‘This hit list is an idea to promote the good. The good which is included in music. Hence our project is called: ‘Music gifts’. Life is a gift and music is its expression. A lot of musicians are aware that their compositions are a strong instrument to proclaim the Good News. In order to realize it, there must appear one particular address at which the musicians will find a possibility of sharing the good of one’s compositions with others. Music of people converted to Jesus has become a phenomenon at present. Whereas, in order to be the essential part of universal culture it must be supported’. Therefore, ‘Niedziela’ supports this activity by weekly publishing the current quotation. In an interview recorded with cameras of the TV studio of ‘Niedziela’ Janusz ‘Yanina’ Iwański expressed his great joy of his life and pointed to the mysterious source of his compositions, which every believer will identify without a problem. Because, after all, according to the life philosophy, music – everything must be go together: both compositions and life; go together with the One who gave us life and shared his creative power with us. Artists like Janusz ‘Yanina’ Iwański know about it very well.
