THE POLISH SEYM COMMEMORATED FR. BLACHNICKI

The Polish Seym accepted an act with the number of 430 votes, expressing a tribute to Fr. Franciszek Blachnicki, ‘a great patriot, soldier, priest and a social activist’, and it appreciated ‘his contribution in the moral development of a lot of generations’. This act is an initiative of a group of MEPs belonging to, among the others, the Parliamentary Group of Members and Fans of the Light-Life Movement, Catholic Action and Association of Catholic Families. The act emphasizes that Fr. Franciszek Blachnicki devoted his whole life to the good of homeland. He fought as a soldier in the September campaign, acted in conspiracy, was imprisoned in the concentration camp by the communist security services. His social activity was based on universal values, formed moral attitude of the nation. As the creator of the Light-Life Movement he brought up the youth and adults in the spirit of patriotism, morality and responsibility. On 27 February 2017 there was the 30th anniversary of the death of Fr. Blachnicki.
