RED EURO-KOLKHOZ

Recently in the EU there has been a symbolic and important event, that is, a meeting of the heads of Germany, France and Italy, on Ventotene Island at the Tyrensk Sea

The significance of the meeting of euro-politicians on Ventotene island is not so much in words but in the symbolism of this event. Laying flowers in the colours of EU (yellow and blue) on a grave of the Italian communist activist Altiero Spinelli, the state heads referred to the place where he had stayed during the war, in prison of Benito Mussolini on that island and ‘Manifest for the sake of free and united Europe’ created then. This was Spinelli’s manifest not a wishful thinking of Christian Democrats, like Alcide De Gasperi, Jean Monnet or Konrad Adenauer, and, in fact, the fundament of today’s hastily transformed European Union. On that occasion, politicians also expressed their ‘deep’ reflections which were best-summarized by the chancellor Angela Merkel – she said that her visit to the grave of the Italian communist activist, together with prime ministers of Italy and France ‘proves that we know where the European Union came from! She was being accompanied by an Italian leftist prime minister Matteo Renzi: ‘We want to write a better charter of Europe history’.

A gang from Ventotene

Altiero Spinelli (1907 – 86) was an Italian communist activist and similarly as Antonio Gramsci (1891- 1937) was critical about effects of terrorism policy pursued by Soviet comrades. Moreover, both of them, being in prisons of Mussolini for a short time, elaborated new concepts of the victory of communist idea, different from the one of Soviet comrades. Gramsci suggested ‘a march through institutions’, mainly the ones of culture and science, and imposing ‘a proper’ awareness and ideology on people. Whereas Spinelli went further – not only totalitarian awareness and ideology but also new totalitarian all-state. And this kind of a totalitarian project, created with Ernest Rossi, was presented in his Manifest from Ventotene. Spinelli elaborated this document in 1941. The Manifest from Vetotene, smuggled from prison, became the further basis for programming discussions, and in 1984 the so-called Spinelli Project was elaborated on its basis, that is, a project of united communist Europe. In 1993 Spinelli Project became an official project of the European Union and the main headquarter of the European Parliament in Brussels was called by the communist activist’s name.

In order to implement Spinelli Project quickly, in 2010 a group of leftist activists from the year 1968 – among the others, Daniel Cohn-Bendit and Joschka Fischer (leading German politicians) or Guy Verhofstadt – set up an Initiative Group of Spinelli which was joined by Róża Thun and Danuta Hunber. The purpose of this lobbying activity is introducing ideas of communists supporting Spinelli as quickly as possible, including political integration within the European Union into one super-country. And the power of influences of Spinelli’s idea was proven by ceremonies of the 25th anniversary of his death which took place in the European Parliament. At that time the chairperson of the European Parliament, a Christian Democrat – prof. Jerzy Buzek, said that ‘the manifest is an alive source of the idea of European integration’. That’s it! Whereas one could think so far that only ideas of the comrade Lenin were ‘alive for ever’! As we can see, the European Union has lived to see the moment of appearing of ‘new Lenins’ of its breeding.

Manifest from Ventotene

So, what does the manifest from Ventotene proclaim, which was developed more and actualized at the post-war time? First of all, it considers the national country as the main enemy which should be destroyed. ‘The first task which must be solved for the sake of progress, is liquidating borders dividing Europe into sovereign countries’. Whereas Spinelli’s supporters, developing their reflections explain: ‘The purpose is to create a federal country which stands on its own legs and has got the European army, not the national ones. It is necessary to put an end to economic self-sufficiency which is the backbone of totalitarian regimes. There is a necessity to have sufficient institutions and means in order to introduce provisions for the general order in particular union countries’.

Manifests of Spinelli’s neo-communism supporters also reach back to the sources of his inspiration: ‘Our movements is confident about purposes and directions of action, not on the basis of unrecognized will of people, but awareness of representing deeper needs of the modern society. Thanks to it, our movements indicates direction lines of new order and imposes the first social discipline on still unformed crowds of people. A new country will appear thanks to dictatorship of a revolutionary party and for new real democracy’.

Not going away from their Marxist and Lenin’s roots, Spinelli’s theoreticians point to the leading role of the comparty: ‘A revolutionary party cannot appear at decisive moments as a result of amateur improvisation, but it must elaborate at least the basic political attitude now, formulate direction lines of its activity and create its own staff’. In addition: ‘Among a still growing group of supporters, a political party should enroll only those for cooperation, who made the European revolution the purpose of their lives, who fulfill their duties every day and care about the welfare of the movement’. Well, it might be concluded in this way: where do we know it from? But, at least we know why some people are tempted to implement this ‘noble’ idea!

However, the country is one thing and the man is another thing. As we remember from old, ‘good’ times, the biggest treasure of socialism was the man. In this new totalitarian system the man is an individual deprived of his own initiative eradicated from his own tradition or values, he is like a mannequin. As the manifest of ‘Spinelli Group’ says: ‘It will be the moment of new action and it will be the moment for new people’ – it will be time for a new movement and a new man. Well, we are familiar with it – ‘homo sovieticus’, that is, ‘Adam of new humankind’, as a Noble prize-winner, being a fan of the comrade Stalin, wrote.

But big projects require big actions, hence there are such ‘high’ requirements for the chosen. And, surely, being concerned about these high requirements, the manifest includes even the charming thread: ‘A new country will be established thanks to the dictatorship of a revolutionary party and for new real democracy(…). Useless elderly people will be eliminated and new energy must be aroused among the young’. So, what about these ‘useless elderly people’? A bullet at the back of the head? Killing with a hammer? Or maybe euthanasia or gas? A lot of people are not aware of the fact that genocide ideas of the socialist activist (NSDAP – the former National-Socialist German Laborers Party) Hitler did not appear in his mind but were the ‘achievement’ of subtle English and French leftist intellectuals who dreamt about creating ‘a new better world’ where ‘the socially useless’ element should be liquidated, in a humanitarian way the best, for example, through gasification.

Future according to ideologists from Ventotene

So, we already know what plans of other infallible ‘ideologists’ are like. First, national countries should be liquidated. Then – it is necessary to create a super-country with its own army, ready to act both outside and also against ordinary citizens. It is necessary to put an end to nationalism, culture and tradition. It is necessary to put an end to religion, as it is also identity and culture: a system of values, traditions, customs. It is necessary to create a new type of the man – eradicated from tradition, inert and obedient. As Spinelli’ followers say: ‘free and united Europe is a necessary condition for introducing modern culture’. And as the chairperson of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker says: ‘Prime-ministers must stop listening to their electors and act as full-time Europeans’ – it means there is a question who they must listen to? Will it be answered by the ‘apostle of the new society’ George Soros or by 200 MPs in the European Parliament favouring him? We may receive an answer to this question soon.
