MARY WAGNER’S BIRTHDAY IN PRISON
(Editors)
More and more people, including the ones from Poland, join the action ‘A rosary bouquet for the unborn on the occasion of Mary Wagner’s birthday’. The Canadian woman, who celebrated her 41st birthday on 12 February, is serving her another term of imprisonment because she was praying outside an abortion clinic.
Mary Wagner, a Canadian pro-life activist, asked her befriended internet users to choose a declaration of a rosary prayer for unborn children, as a gift for her. It can be done on Facebook (www.facebook.com/RosaryBouquetforBabies) or by sending a declaration of prayer in an email to the address: torontocatholicwitness@rogers.com (the title should include the words ‘Rosary Bouquet’).
Polish Post Office issued a stamp with the image of Mary Wagner. The face of the Canadian woman shown behind bars is accompanied by a motif of a red rose. This is a reference to events from the life defender’s life, who was often sentenced to imprisonment because she had used to give roses to women waiting for their abortions in abortion clinics.
As an inventor of the action Jacek Kotula informed on the portal Stopaborcji.pl, the stamps will be sent to known people, among the others, to the Canadian prime minister, the British queen and pope Francis.
Cards to Mary Wagner can be sent to the address: Mary Wagner, c/o Vanier Centre for Women, P.O. Box 1040, 655 Martin St., Milton, ON, L9T 5E6, Canada.
