The Holy See was surprised to receive the final remarks of the Committee of the United Nations for Children’s rights, presented in Geneva – stated archbishop SilvanoTomasi in an interview for the Vatican Radio, who is a permanent representative of the Holy See for agenda of the UNO in Geneva. On 16 January he was presenting a Vatican attitude towards the report about application of the Convention of Children’s rights. »

GOOD SIGNS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE CHURCH

We are after a few visits in congregations. Yesterday was a very busy day – 6 visits. Today it is similar. Everywhere we meet with a kind of interest in the Church in Poland. Some people ask how it happened that Poland still keeps up. They say clearly: - We thought that 10-15 years after regaining freedom Polish churches would be empty. We say that we trust God more than ourselves. We also say that we are not going to depart from the sensitiveness of our people. »

‘NIEDZIELA’ WAS IN VATICAN WITH POLISH BISHOPS

On 1-8 February 2014 bishops from all Polish dioceses were making a pilgrimage to Rome within the visit ‘Ad limina apostolorum’. They were praying in Roman basilicas, talking with the Holy Father Francis and reporting the situation of the Church in our Homeland, they were also taking part in important meetings in Vatican offices. ‘Niedziela’ was accompanying our bishops in this important event. »

It was a warm-hearted and successful visit – it was how cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz summoned up the ‘Ad limina apostolorum’ of Polish bishops in Rome. All bishops with whom one talks, are impressed by warm-heartedness of pope Francis. He welcomes them as guests, he welcomes them with heartedness, and then he escorts them to the door as a host of home. »

Some people perceive this building as a pear or a vase. Despite the crisis there are many funds for its building work. According to official data, it is to cost tax-payers, that is, all of us, over 330 million euro. »
