On 14 August 1980 the strike wave in the Lenin shipyard in Gdansk evolved into a bloodless national uprising - a miracle of the beginning of the fall of the communist system first in Poland and then in the entire Central-Eastern Europe, including the Soviet Union. Today very few people remember that the uprising was preceded by a wave of strikes in the Lublin province, and was initiated by the Transport Equipment Plant in Swidnik. »
